Dress decisions

February 17, 2010

One of the best parts of going on a cruise is having a reason to make a new fancy dress! I’ve had this pattern forever, and now’s the time to do it.

I bought some wine-colored crepe-backed satin to do it with. Decisions to make:

– Sleeveless or long sleeved? It’s a Caribbean cruise, but the dining room can get chilly. But I really like the sleeveless version.
– I’m going to do the plain godet instead of the ruffled. My plan is to do some embroidery on it. Machine or hand? And of what?
– Crepe side or satin side? Or satin side dress with crepe side godet and cummerbund?

Love this pattern! Definetely sleeveless ( you can always wear a wrap), and definetely use both sides of your fabric. Embroidery – If it were mine, I would probably do a simple design in black and implement it in the front and back necklines also. Can’t wait to see photo’s!!
